I think you should consider adopting "Stages" as the new name for Layouts.

Why? Because for end users (tech challenged) it's easier to understand their purpose.

And it serves as an analogy for it's purpose.

I am a trainer, and I use DCO Connect to train other trainers.

I have noticed that Layouts seems to be the last thing that users finally grasp.

When you add a large number of pods in a given category, the list doesn't scroll. For instance, if you have over 50 Note pods, when you go to the Pods menu to make one of them active, you can't see the whole list because it doesn't scroll.

It would be nice if the recordings did not automatically start when viewed. The reason why I say this is because the recording seems to start before all the pods are loaded which makes it seem like there was a delay when it was recorded. I have noticed that when I start to view a recording, it starts out between 2 and 3 seconds after the recording was actually started. After researching this problem, I found out that the recording started when it was suppose to but when viewing it, it started playing before everything was loaded. You then have to pause the recording and back it up to view the first couple of seconds.

In version 7 one was able to have a private chate with learners in a virtual classroom via the Q&A pod. This feature does not exist in version 8 (for some reason it has been taken out).
In version 7 I could start a conversation with anybody in the classroom via the Q&A i.e. nobody had to send in a question to be able to first chat to the learner. One did not have to have an extra chat pod open. One would simply write the message in the area provided and then select the peron you want to send the message to.
In version 8 one has to open a separate chat pod for this. The problem with this is that all the learners now have the power to talk to each other. So the next step would be to go to the Administration tap (in Adobe Connect) and set the setting that no private chats can take place BUT.... this would mean that anybody who creates a Vritual Classroom will be governed by this rule i.e. this does not solve the problem either.

Allow for voice, video and data streams to be presented on different tcp/udp ports so that proper netwrok QoS can be applied to the traffic.
Currently the RTMP stream holds multiple types of data and is transfered on the same tcp/udp port. This makes it extreamly difficult (if not impossible)to engineer the network to ensure a reliable end-to-end service for Adobe. Connect voice and video traffic.

When jumping from shared file to shared screen program and back it appears that the presentation starts over. It would be helpful to have an option to save your place in the presentation or automatically resume the presentation or last screen shot from previous point.

Although during webinars it is beneficial to have the chat feature, but during a playback of a recorded session I want to have that information removed. Our CLE commission requires monitored attendance and we use the chat function for that purpose among others, but for play back the new attendees should not have to see all the chat of people checking in. I think this might be helpful in other areas if we could remove or add pods to recorded sessions. Same might hold true for the attendance pod...

In the top-right notifications area, you get the message [# person would like to enter the room.] with the options Allow Everyone, Deny Everyone, then a list of name waiting... At the same time, you get the box notification in the lower right corner of screen, indicating "[name] would like to enter the room." with the option to Accept or Deny. It is confusing to new folks or people who don't host very much that two different sets of very similar words are used for the same actions.

Individual users have to expand the Training Catalogs folder in order to view the courses/curriculum published to a custom folder inside the Training Catalog. This assumes the user/group has View permission to that custom folder. Currently, there's not an easy way for an individual user to determine if there are custom folders in the Training Catalog. There's a gray horizontal triangle icon next to the Training Catalog folder, whether or not there's a subfolder under it.

Idea: Change the gray horizontal triangle icon next to the individual's Training Catalog folder so that it's more intuitive. The icon could be changed to "+" or something else to indicate there are subfolders underneath the Training Catalog. Likewise, a different icon, kike "-" could be used to indicate there are no subfoders under the Training Catalog. This could be rolled into Adobe Connect 9.

Often we record sessions for training purposes. I have received received several requests to find a way to export the audio to an MP3, so that it can be uploaded to a portable player, or can be run through Dragon to convert to written scripts.
